• Age: We require you to be 16 years or older to use this app (EU GDPR compliance)
• Gender: Male, Female, or Other — used for demographic-based coupon filtering

Optional Information:

• Email Address: Only if you consent to receive marketing communications (you can opt-out anytime)

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Location Data: We collect your real-time GPS location only when the app is open and actively displaying coupons, to show you deals within 2km and sort by distance.

Device & Authentication: Anonymous User ID (Firebase), device type, app version, and device language.

Usage Data: Coupons viewed, coupons used (stored permanently to prevent reuse), favourites, and general app usage patterns.

2 How We Use Your Information

• Show you coupons near your current location (within 2km)
• Sort and filter coupons by proximity
• Prevent coupon abuse (one use per coupon per user)
• Send push notifications about new or expiring deals (with permission)
• Provide directions to businesses via Google Maps
• Analyze popular categories to improve the app
• Fix bugs and improve performance

3 Data Sharing and Disclosure

Service Providers

• Google Firebase: App infrastructure, database, authentication, notifications (EU data centers, GDPR compliant)
• Google Maps: Directions to businesses (your location shared only when you tap "Directions")

Business Partners

We share only aggregated, anonymous statistics with coupon-providing businesses (e.g., "100 students used your coupon"). No personal information is shared.

4 Data Storage and Security

• Storage: Google Firebase — European Union data centers
• Encryption in transit: TLS/SSL encryption
• Encryption at rest: Firebase server-side encryption
• Active user data: Retained while you use the app
• Used coupon records: Stored minimum 1 year (anti-fraud)
• Inactive users: Data deleted after 2 years of inactivity

6 Children's Privacy

Nearbee is only for users 16 years of age or older. We require age input during registration and reject users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

• Android: Settings → Apps → Nearbee → Permissions → Location → Deny

8 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use Firebase Analytics for crash reporting, performance monitoring, and basic usage stats. We use local storage (Hive) to cache coupon data and remember your preferences.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, cross-site tracking, or behavioral advertising.

10 International Data Transfers

Data is primarily stored in EU data centers. All transfers comply with GDPR standards. Google (Firebase) has EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, new features, or security improvements. We will notify you via push notification or in-app banner for major changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
